Called one of the most beautiful lakes in the USA, Lake Lure offers thousands of meters of great rowing.

Colleges and high schools have known Lake Lure as a jewel for years, in 2019 the Lake Lure Racing Team brought competitive Master’s rowing to Lake Lure and in 2022 started an organized Master’s rowing program as well as a Master’s Rowing Retreat and Camp program called Lake Lure Rowing Experiences.

The geography of Lake Lure allows nearly year-around water access and is particularly appealing in March, April, October, November and December—providing opportunities for early and late season training and competition.

Club founder/owners Leslie Rowland and Wade Oppliger are successful racing competitors and been coached by top pedigreed rowers in Texas and North Carolina.

Master’s Coach and Regatta Coordinator Ted Nash brings his lifetime of rowing experience to the Lake Lure Rowing Club—along with some of the greatest rowing stories you’ll ever hear.
